Deeply Rooted Marriage intends to come alongside couples to assist them in developing a thriving marriage relationship that glorifies God by reflecting His image, provides a foundation for strong families, and advances the Work of the Kingdom of God through His church on this earth.

Reflecting His image…

Marriage is designed by God.

Genesis 1:27- “ So God created man in His own image;

in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”

We are designed in the image of God—male and female—complimentary sexes whom God draws together to complement each other and to Glorify the Oneness of God himself.  This world teaches us that the individual is the center of the universe.  It is “all about me”.  God’s points us back to himself and reminds us that it is all about Him.  As we begin to focus our attention back on God, the maker of our faith, we will be rightly related to Him and able to live and love as He designed.

Providing a foundation for strong families…

Genesis 2:24 “That is why a man leaves his father and mother

and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.”

And Jesus confirms this in Matthew 19:4-6 when he says, “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

When one man and one woman come together in marriage, they are joined together as “one flesh”.  This ONENESS cannot be separated, but we can get out of alignment with one another causing disunity which leads to problems and conflict in the marriage.  However, when both man and woman are deeply rooted in their relationship with Christ, they move toward Him which inevitably draws them back toward ONENESS—

a strong foundation for the marriage to flourish as well as a stable

environment for the raising of children.

Advancing the Kingdom of God on this earth…

“But blessed is the man who trusts me, God, the woman who sticks with God.  They’re like trees replanted in Eden, putting down roots near the rivers—Never a worry through the hottest of summers, never dropping a leaf, Serene and calm through droughts, bearing fresh fruit every season.”  Jeremiah 17:7-8

We are created for a purpose and our marriages are part of God’s purpose in our lives.  God uses our marriages and our relationship with a spouse to shape and mold us into the person He has created us to be.  He also uses a marriage to be a blessing to others.  He works in and through a marriage relationship to accomplish His purposes.  When believers have a strong and thriving marriage this is a witness to the power of the Gospel in their lives. When marriages within the Church are strong and thriving, God’s kingdom purposes are advanced. A strong marriage bears good fruit.

Marriage is under attack today…

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy… John 10:10(a)

The enemy of our soul seeks to destroy what God has established. Because God created marriage to be a reflection of Himself and of Christ’s relationship with the Church, it is “ground zero” for the attack of the enemy who comes to steal, kill and destroy.  This enemy wants to tear down and lay waste to marriage.  The enemy seeks to divide and isolate husband and wife so they cannot live out the ONENESS that would bring Glory to God. Many couples are experiencing the painful effects of this onslaught— pornography, infidelity, financial crisis, abortion— and their marriage is dry and desolate— a desert land.

But if you are still breathing, there is HOPE...

I (Jesus) came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”  John 10:10

God can refresh what is dry, restore what was broken, and reclaim what was lost. He says, “I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs” (Isaiah 41:18), and this is the HOPE of a marriage deeply rooted in the giver of abundant life- Jesus Christ.
